Mega menu: links impossible to add and display troubles 3 months 1 week ago #9984

Hello,

I'm new to Astroid, and am currently trying to configure it on my website.
But I have a lot of troubles with the megamenu.

1: some menu links won't add to the mega menu.
2: 2nd level menu links won't have any mega menu options, and will appear already "open" with all their submenu links showing

1: some menu links won't add to the mega menu.
One I have clicked on mega menu active for a 1rst level menu link, I add one row and then I try to add menu links to the columns.
Some will, some won't...
I click on it, but nothing happens.
I can't figure out why, as the appear to be all the same kind.
Result : some of my 2nd level menulinks are impossible to display in the mega menu.

2: 2nd level menu links won't have any mega menu options, and will appear already "open" with all their submenu links showing
... and I have many, many menu links so this turns to a menu impossible to read, going well away beyond the screen limits!

This is the admin of the Astroid mega menu for any 2nd level menu links :

... no way to say "please don't show open", or to configure any mega menu sublevel...

This is what I get with the mega menu :

(and it's worse when the page is not scrolled down and the mega menu is not yet sticked to the top of the page : in normal position, the subemnu displays... to the top, far beyond the top of the screen!!) :

And this is what I wish to get (I did this with JUX mega menu on my previous template) :

Now, if I don't choose the mega menu option and stay on a classic standard menu, this is how the submenu links display (as you can see, it becomes impossible to read the last ones!!) :

So :
Do I have a problem, is there anything I don't do the right way, or is Astroid made like this and there is no way to get these problems solved?

I even tried to reinstall my good old JUX mega menu but... I did not find any way to ask for the Astroid menu not to display.
Si the two menus display in the same place...
Is is possible to hide the Astroid menu ?

I hope I was clear enough, ask me any question if I wasn't.
Oh ! By the way: this problem apart, I DO love Astroid. It is easy and simple, I like the admin of it, and I would really like to find the way to get it working on my website.

Here is a link to the subdomain where I run those tests :

Thank you for your help :)

hello,
tou need to build your menu with care.
only menu items of first level that have child items will be able to be "megamenu compatible"
so, there is a tip : you define items that need to be megamenu parent
you put them for a first time at first level, and told them they are megamenu
you create your boxes, and only after that, you put them at second level

hope it helps

Bonjour Serge,

Merci !
Bonne soirée,
FlodAriege

hello,

In english for our friends here:
I started to do what you say (I put the 2nd level links to the 1st, I configure the columns, put the links in, then put the link back to the 2nd level).
But it does not change anything in the display (except it slightly shifted to the right the links of 3rd level).
But these links of 2nd level always appear wide open, well before one clicked on it, so: menu with elevator and all the bazaar ...)

Maybe it is necessary to start with the last links (4th level or more, and to go back to the 1st but ... if it's that it will take me a while... given the number of links)
And above all, there are always a lot of links that I can not integrate at all in the columns, I do not understand.

Any idea?

I admit I did not look how was the display at the css level in frontend , I just checked that the plugin worked in backend.
For your menu items: Only the child elements of the item in question does appear.
you have to adjust your elements in the first level, put them in the right order / ranking by level, like in a classic joomla menu and you will see them appear.

Thank you Serge, for jumping in and helping!

I do see a few issues and are in the process of fixing them i.e. menu opening towards the top when where are too many menu items and a few more.

Will be back with more shortly, Thank you for the very valuable feedback and using Astroid.
