It's really that we are trying to decide what extensions are worth integrating in the core of astroid. When I say in the core, there are 2 major steps involved.
1. Provide HTML overrides for every layout/view of the extension.
2. Write relative CSS to make it look nice and better.

It's something Naveen (Our marketing head), is trying to work out not only with Kunena but other extension developers as well. I am not sure where he is with the process but we will know once he makes a deal with one of the folks and we'll get to work I guess.

Helpful? May be!

Let's move this discussion out of the translation topic... :P

If I were to attempt that myself, what would I need to do exactly? Starting point is a template, e.g. JD NewYork, that already works well for Kunena (Helix3 quirks aside). Could I just copy the overrides and CSS from that template to make it work in Astroid? Would I need to modify the copied files at all? I'm thinking references to specific items not present in Astroid.

Let me ask Chandan to get you the files and css that we are using on our site (as a starting point) and you can take it from there.

expect a reply on/off 10-12 hours since he works in a different timezone.
Thanks,
Chetan

Hello,

Sorry to say, but you can't get the same design as it is in the JD New York template due to the Bootstrap version issue. We will try to release a template with Kunena in future or let's see what we can do with Kunena in near future. But for the moment, I will not suggest you copy the code from other templates. It might break your website.

Thanks,
Chandan

@tcn,

We are using Kunena 4 with Astroid and I think you are looking for (or using), Kunena latest (5), which has a major difference as far as how everything is structured.... So, our CSS/overrides won't be useful for the moment.

Thanks,
Chetan

That's correct. We are using Kunena 5.x (latest release).

I will have a look at the other templates available. I was hoping to get everything styled using the same template/framework. But that's not a requirement. Stability is, though. Especially since multiple people will be administering the site and I don't won't things to blow up in anybody's face.

I'm looking forward to the first Kunena template based on Astroid. Keep up the good work!

I don't know how you guessed but we had a discussion about that this AM. It's something happening in the very near future.

Hello, first of all, thank you for all the good work you have been doing.

I was looking for a remodeling of the website of our local birdwatching club in Brazil and ran into JDParis (Astroid Framework) and found it really interesting.

After some tests I noticed the Kunena forum page is broken. My questions is if Astroid Framework works with Kunena in its latest release (5.1.18). If not, would you recommend which other template from Joomdev? Your work and documentation is really good

Thanks for your attention,
Fabio.

Hi Fabio,

We haven't added CSS for latest Kunena yet and it's in the default state (as it would work without astroid).

We do have plans to fix this but nothing in the near future as we are focused on bringing astroid and our other products up with Joomla 4.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can help you with?
Thanks,
Chetan
