Please, I noticed that Astroid based templates are not performing well on gtmetrix.com and Yslow. I have enable cache and gzip systems and tried some performance plugins like rokbooster, scriptmerge, and jotcache but thy break the template.
How I can considerably increase the performance of astroid based templates to load faster and obtain better score on gtmetrix.com and Yslow?
Thanks.

Thanks so much. I look forward to that.
It's very very important to optimize the Astroid Framework for SEO and speed performance.
More grace and strength to you guys.

Yep with Astroid I’ve noticed my site is slow and I don’t have any content on it. Pretty much just the QuickStart and it’s slow and always see the preloader between changing pages.

At this stage with a fairly vanilla astroid template, the gtmetrix and yslow ratings are pretty bad. I think I'll have to go back to a non framework template to get speeds up until astroid can get better. I really like astroid and all its functions and it can get a website exactly like I want but it's just too slow at the moment to be functional. A website needs to be super fast for user experience which unfortunately it can't do just yet.

Hello,

Like I said earlier in the post. It's a work in progress and we shall have a release soon.
It's not that slow. We ran some tests too and it's only slow in some cases (depending on how complex your layout is) and even then it only add half a second to the first byte time.

Thanks for sticking by Astroid, I'll update this post when we have the performance release out.

Hello Chetan,
I confirm that there is a performance problem with Astroid. Even with JCH installed and pages containing only text or empty pages the loading is slow... :pinch:

Thank you for keeping us informed about this.

Lorenzo
