TOPIC: Astroid Menu Start Level ???

Astroid Menu Start Level ??? 1 year 6 months ago #14376

Hello!
Astroid have only End Level Menu setting....

But Start Level Menu setting is much more important!
Standrart Joomla Menu Module have it

So, in case your framework don't have this setting, can I use Standrart Joomla Menu Module in this position?
If yes, how to make it dropdown - same as your menu?
Thanks.

Hello,

We only support endlevel for now, see the original discussion from a few months back www.joomdev.com/forum/astroid-framework/...-joomla-menu-modules

You can't publish a Joomla menu in order to get the Astroid styling, it works based on menuname.
See following discussion as well: www.joomdev.com/forum/astroid-framework/...n-menu-multilanguage

Thanks,
Chetan

Astroid Menu Start Level ??? 1 year 6 months ago #14398

Ok, I see.
but how I can fix it for my project?

I have such menu structure:
First Menu
Auto
--Mesrcedes
--BMW
--AUDI

Second Menu
Moto
--Mesrcedes
--BMW
--AUDI

There are 2 sections on the site Auto and Moto.
So I need only Car brand names in menu.
But I need to have full path in Breadcrumbs.
That's why I use different menus with sections.

I mean, that startlevel option is absolutely necessary.

Hello!
I Have absolutely same issue.
I have several menus and several template styles.
I need to limit start level of my menus.
Or may be it possible to place native joomla menu module in this position and set correct class for it?

Hello,

So, we'll include this in the next update, but for the moment, you can modify the core menu layout file to get a different start level.

github.com/joomdev/Astroid-Framework/blo...amework/menu.php#L36

Change
"startLevel":"1"
to the number of your choice and that'll do the job.

You can see the path on github and in your Joomla install it's at:

JOOMLASITE/libraries/astroid/framework/menu.php.
