I uploaded the astroid-framework-v2.2.2-j3.9.8-quickstart.zip to my FTP
Upon opening the webpage, I am receiving a "Failed to start the session" error.
Is this a known issue that can be resolved?

Hi,

This error looks like more of something that's related to your server rather than Astroid or Joomla.

Have you installed Joomla on the same server before?

Thanks,
Chetan

Yup, I have Astroid installed on a different subdirectory - but just installed the template.. The quick start file was uploaded to a new subdirectory.

The quickstart is like Joomla itself and can't be installed through the Joomla installer.
This should help as well: docs.joomdev.com/article/difference-betw...-quickstart-package/

Thanks, and understood.
I was under the impression that I needed to upload the contents of the zip file to the FTP directly - is this not the case?
After the upload was complete, when attempting to access the site, I get the error.

You upload the zip and extract online.

and then access it through the browser, that should get you the installation screen.

Greatly appreciate the help!
I followed the instruction, step-by-step, but am unfortunately still getting the error: Failed to start the session
As you can see, this is the site with just the template installed: safeidcard.com/New
This is the site that I'm trying to install: safeidcard.com/new2/

It's a server side thing. I am not sure if and If I can assist.

Could be folder permissions or something else?
