Hi,
I have received an email about v2.5, but there seems to be very little information about it? Do we update all existing sites with v2.5? If so, are there any compatibility issues? For example, there is an unresolved issue with the New Jersey template, is this resolved with version 2.5? Also, there were numerous folder and file deletions required for previous Astroid updates. Are any required for this version? Regards, Colin. |

Hi,
If your sites are build on Astroid then please hold the release for some time. Those without Astroid you can use the updated version of the template it won't have any effect on it. And yes we are working on making some changes in the framework hopefully they will be resolved soon. Thanks, Nishtha |

@Nishtha
I've just now seen this and NO other previous warnings. I've already updated a few sites to v. 2.5 that are using Astroid. Now what? I wish someone would please make these statements BEFORE releasing the updates (and sending emails!) In the past I have intentionally waited to install releases for this reason. I thought maybe Joomdev is getting better with these updates. When this happens I feel like we are just participating in a science experiment. |

If you have updated your websites then also its fine(but always keep a backup just in case), if not then that is also okay!
You are not a part of any science experiment, it was for your websites smooth functioning that we suggested you to hold on for a while. Thanks, Nishtha |

Thanks, Nishtha |

I'm seeing an alert from the Joomla Extensions updates:
Astroid Framework 2.4.7 -> 2.5.1 Astroid Template One 1.3.0 -> 1.3.1 Astroid Template Zero 2.5.0 -> 2.5.1 I just updated these two days ago and Framework still says 2.4.7 but it was updated to 2.5.0. Can someone explain what these new updates are for? |

Hi,
Are you referring to the New Jersey template issue? If so, was it the template or Astroid thst had the minor fix? Either way, can you confirm it is now OK to update Astroid for the New Jersey template. Regards, Colin. |

Hi Colin,
New Jersey is not build with Astroid yet. So I don't think it's a good idea that you update Astroid there unless you have already added it. Or are you talking about New York? Thanks, Nishtha |
