Hi all

A few things I found slightly annoying - maybe I do not know how to properly use the Page Builder yet or maybe there is room for improvement with the component.

So, I wanted to copy a page from a local dev server to a live site; created the .json file but when I uploaded to the live site I thought it did not work:
a) as the imported sections went to the bottom of the page and there was no popup or message to let me know that the import process was successful;
b) found it difficult to delete section by section of the old page ( and the newly imported once, as initially, I had no idea they had been imported )

If I`m here and might be mentioning one more aspect I have noticed with the Astroid:
- creating menu items as separators, in the front end, makes those menu items redirect to the home page of the website.

Again, maybe all of the above is meant to happen but to me, they should not.

Kind regards
Cosmin

PS: I haven`t given any website details but if need be I can easily do so. Tks

Hey Cosmin,

Thank you for all your suggestions, there is always scope for improvement from the feedbacks we get from you guys.

Replies in order for JD Builder:
#1 Any json imported will always be placed below the content that is already there on the page. But regarding a message to show that the process was successful that can be added, so thank you for pointing that.

#2 Well that is how it is, like I said the page is imported below the existing content so you will have to delete it one by one only.

Replies for Astroid:
Well that is because it is a Separator meaning it's just heading. If you want it to redirect to some page then choose the type as Menu item alias or URL.
Also this is not an issue in Astroid these types are in Joomla, has nothing to do with the framework.

Hope this made things little clear, do let us know for more!

Thanks,
Nishtha

Hi Nishtha

Thank you for the reply and thank you for considering the suggested feature.

Regarding the separator topic, in the default Joomla! 3 templates (Beez3 and protostar), separators do not point at URLs. They just "separate". For same menus but with Astroid, separator menu items point at a page ( the Home page ). I believe this should not happen.

Kind regards
Cosmin

Yes that's exactly what I mean Separator is just a heading it won't redirect to any page. If it is then please share your site link so we can check the same.

Nishtha

Hi

To understand the issue you can have a look at bay1.createitfirst.com / upper menu / "interpage" item ( this is a separator )

In the attached print screen you can see that while the cursor is over the "interpage" link on the LL part of the browse window the target page URL is displayed.

Kind regards
Cosmin

Hi chandandeep

Thank you for your reply.

Your suggestion prevents the link to be active - just a "javascript:void(0);" in the lower-left corner of the screen while hovering the link. Anyway, it fixes the problem.

Thank you.
