I tried all the options described on css-tricks.com/couple-takes-sticky-footer/ in order to make the footer stick to the bottom of the page instead of the bottom of the content wrapper. None worked flawless.

I also tried a few modifications of the given samples to no avail. It would, for example stick to the bottom of the page where the content does not take up the entire height, but on a long page, it would then be covered by the content. I gave up. I learned a lot about CSS the past few weeks, but I can't wrap my head around this one1.

Example: kunena.transalpclub.nl/forum/recent/recente-berichten

The same applies to our main site, where we use Astroid Framework. If you wish, I will open another request in the Astroid Framework topic.

Example: kunena.transalpclub.nl/activiteiten/activiteiten-gepland

1 pun not intended, but it applies somehow, anyway :P

Hi there,

Here is the solution for sticky footer in Astroid github.com/joomdev/Astroid-Framework/issues/22.

Let me know how it goes?
Thanks,

Sorry, but the GitHub solution doesn't work. I tried as instructed and the footer was at the bottom of the content, not the page, overlaying it partially.

Then I tried applying the same settings to the astroid-footer class. That displayed the footer correctly, but it once again stuck to the bottom of the content.

2 things.

The class should be added to the bottom most section, which may not necessarily be the footer but something else.
Rings a bell?

You said "2 things". What's the other one?

Do you mean "section" as in HTML <section> or "section" as in container like <div> etc? I'm asking because I see both in the HTML code. In the layout manger the footer is the lowest section.

Wait! :headbang: <-- essential missing emote in Kunena! Do I need to add the custom class to the section configuration? I added it to Astroid Footer. :pinch:

No luck today. I tried adding to the footer section configuration. I tried all three fields that somehow made sense: Custom Class, Custom ID and Layout Custom Class. None of them made it work.

I'll check back in later. No rush.

I know I should make separate posts for different templates. But is this a confirmed bug in both templates, JD NewYork and Astroid?
