I have been using JD Contact Form for about a year without any issues but for about a week we started to receive a lot of spam messages via form. The messages are always in the same structure. They end with: "Muchas gracias. ?Como puedo iniciar sesion?" You can search this phrase in Google and see that a lot of people are suffering from this spam.

We have been using the latest version of recaptcha and had no issues with it so far. So my questin is, does the form have a honey pot? If not, do you plan to implement it?

Kind regards,
Hakan

Another option might be blocking certain content in the message. There is no option like that like blocked keywords. I want to block this text for example: "Muchas gracias. ?Como puedo iniciar sesion?" so that the form will not be submitted.

Hi again, Hakana,

The form doesn't include the Honeypot technique as of now. Let me see if we can implement this as it's not a much requested feature and most of the time the Recaptcha works perfectly for blocking spam.

If you haven't done it, you can try increasing the Security Preference of your Recaptcha in the settings.

Thanks,
Akash

We have the same problems, our clients get so much spam by the form page, we try not to offer the options to clients (they all ask for a contactform). We get so much questions after we publiced the website live. It cost a lot of time unfortaintly. I hope there will be an update.

Akash thank you very much for your reply. I had to install a spam blocking plugin "OSpam-a-not", otherwise we were about to go crazy. Some people are talking in the forums about deleting thousands of this spam message with the content I stated above. I haven't increased the security settings of the recaptcha. I didn't now that.

Hakana,

Try to increase the security. It helps in blocking the spam.

Try to increase it to fully secure and see if it works.

@APEXCreative, you can also give Recaptcha a try as it's a better alternative to other techniques.

Let me know, how it goes.

Thanks.

@stangro

True, that doesn't work in most cases.

I've observed by increasing the captcha security to full, it helps in blocking many spammers.
