Hi all

Regarding SCSS

In Zero template we have:
SCSS/style.scss
SCSS/ZERO/style.scss
SCSS/ZERO/_variables.scss
SCSS/ZERO/_variables_override.scss

Where is the best place to override BS4 i.e.
SCSS/BOOTSTRAP/_jumbotron.scss
SCSS/BOOTSTRAP/MIXINS/_forms.scss

Where would I add this (copied from SCSS/BOOTSTRAP/_variables.scss)
$theme-colors: () !default;
// stylelint-disable-next-line scss/dollar-variable-default
$theme-colors: map-merge(
(
"primary": $primary,
"secondary": $secondary,
"success": $success,
"info": $info,
"warning": $warning,
"danger": $danger,
"light": $light,
"dark": $dark,
"black": $black
),
$theme-colors
);

Thanks for any advice and help

Jon

Also, hoping to confirm which files are safe from any updates and which files override bs4 core :)

Hello,

Starting Astroid 2.2.0, you have an option to use the Theming feature in Astroid.
Please have a look.

Yeah saw that.
Great feature!

Wondering where to put actual overrides to bootstrap rather than just the variables

You can easily overrides the bootstrap variables through the Sass Overrides sections. See the screenshot.

Hi

A bit if communication breakdown :)

I am not talking about _variables.scss.

I am talking about ALL/ANY bootstrap. ie _backgrounds, _buttons etc

Which if these files overrides bootstrap ?
SCSS/style.scss
SCSS/ZERO/style.scss
SCSS/ZERO/_variables.scss
SCSS/ZERO/_variables_override.scss

I have no idea what best practise is for
- placing ANY scss.
- override bootstrap (not just changing a variable)

So say in _card.scss it says
- border: $black
Where would I override it to
- border: $green

Do you see where i am coming from?

Maybe I should have asked this:

What is the purpose for each of these files?
SCSS/style.scss
SCSS/ZERO/style.scss
SCSS/ZERO/_variables.scss
SCSS/ZERO/_variables_override.scss

Can each if these files accept mixins?
Do they all accept functions ie @each etc

Hello,

I think the SCSS has been separated into multiple files to simplify the management for the same. _variables_override.scss can be used to override any of the variables from _variables_override.scss.

They should accept mixins and other functions since all of them render together using the SCSS compiler.

Thanks,
Chetan
